PC DVR Range

o minimize false detections, the motion detection

eature lets you adjust its sensitivity, so it ignores
small movements such as rain, and areas of each

ameras view can be masked, so for example it

gnores movement on the road in front of your
premises, but does not ignore movement on the

nce movement has been detected as well as

ecording it the software can call up to
3 telephone numbers and play a prerecorded

essage, or alternatively send an email with images

f the detection attached.

he software can also sound an alarm through the PC's speakers when movement is
detected.
B
y using the optional Alarm Input/Output/Relay interface, it is also possible to trigger
additional devices such as lights and alarms when movement is detected
Remote Access
If you have received notification of movement being detected or you simply want to check on
y
our premises while you are away, you can access the system in the following ways:

f the PC with the x-vision software on it is connected to a Local Area Network, then you can
a
ccess the system from any Windows PC/Laptop on the same Local Area Network. With this
t
ype of connection you can playback recordings, view the cameras live and record them, have
2 way audio communication with the site and control Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras.
If the PC with the x-vision software on it is connected to a Broadband (ADSL) connection,
t
hen you can access the system remotely from anywhere in the world via a Windows
P
C/Laptop with an Internet connection. With this type of connection you can playback
recordings, view the cameras live and record them, have 2 way audio communication with
t
he site and control Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras.
I
f the PC with the x-vision software on it is connected to a Broadband (ADSL) connection,
t
hen you can access the system remotely from anywhere in the world via a Pocket PC PDA
with an Internet connection, or a Pocket PC Mobile Phone with a GPRS connection to the
i
nternet. With this type of connection you can view the cameras live.
If the PC with the x-vision software on it is
c
onnected to a standard telephone line via a
m
odem, then you can access the system remotely
from anywhere in the world via a Windows
P
C/Laptop and a modem (or mobile phone with
b
uilt in modem). To connect you will have to call
the telephone number that your
x
-vision system is connected to. With this type of
c
onnection you can only view the cameras live.

Security
M
ulti level user password structure, every user can have there own user name and password
which can be individually tailored to allow them access to individual functions, such as setup
features, playback, i
ndividual cameras (useful for hiding covert cameras) and remote access.
Should a camera suffer a loss of picture, detect movement or any of the alarm inputs be
t
riggered the software will alert you by telephone or email.
Software and Hardware watchdog, if the system detects any problems with your software or
hardware, it will restart your machine to try to cure them.
Smart Search
The smart search function allows you to highlight a portion of the cameras view and search
for all movements that took place in that area. This is a very quick and powerful way to
search for specific movements, for example, to see who picked up a set of car keys from a
desk.
Backing Up Recordings
The software has a backup utility which allows you to copy individual incidents or still images
on to removable media such as CD
The software can also be set to automatically backup recordings at scheduled times on to a
secondary hard drive or partition
Erasing Recordings
The software can be set to overwrite mode, which means that when the hard drive is full it
will automatically start erasing the earliest recordings to make room for the current
recordings. In this mode no user intervention is required.
Or can be set to write only. In this mode the software will warn you when the hard drive is
full. You can then delete the recordings quickly and easily using the Delete Recordings utility
provided, or archive the recordings using the BackUp utility.
2 Way Audio
While watching the cameras remotely over a Local Area Network or a Broadband (ADSL)

nternet connection, providing the PC with the x-vision software loaded on it has a
m
icrophone and speakers connected and so does the Remote PC, you can have a 2 way
conversation
Central Monitoring Software

he x-vision Central Monitoring Station software is supplied free, and incorporates the

Automatic Software Updates & Enhancements
The software is designed to automatically update the x-vision software to the very latest
version every time it connects to the Internet, ensuring the system stays up to date.This
feature can be turned off if required.
Because the PCDVR is based on Windows, the software can be easily updated without having
to buy more hardware, so you can take advantage of future software enhancements..
Data Protection Act Compliance
The two most time intensive and costly guidelines to adhere to in the Data Protection Act,
relate to the need keep a recordings log book, and to erase the recording medium before
every use. However you will be pleased to here that hard drive based systems such as the x-
vision software are exempt from these guidelines as they do this automatically.
Remote Access Speeds

he software is designed to offer a maximum of 25 fps during remote viewing,
however this
is restricted by network & modem performance. The following rates are based on customer
feedback and independent tests.
Over Modem: 1~2 fps per camera
Over Broadband (ADSL) 4~15 fps per camera
Over Local Area Network 15~25 fps per camera
Camera Compatibility
The x-vision cards and software are compatible with all industry standard CCTV cameras, B/W
or Colour. For best results we recommend the use of high resolution Colour or Colour IR
Day/Night cameras (400+
TVL).
